Looks so nasty in those khakis

I've been knitting my little heart out and yet I don't think I'll finish my Farmhouse sweater tonight. I'm very close. All of the pieces are done, I just have to knit some trim, weave in ends, and seam it. I still don't have time though, o well. Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow night. Well I'm not really in a writing mood and heroes is on, but I wanted to put up a blog. Here are some pictures of my trip up to Mt Rogers.

A kiss on my pack for good luck!

View from the tallest mountain in Virginia, pretty good eh?

High mountain pasture where wild horses can be found

I love my tent!Ok, so I do get a little bored hiking by myself.

The wonderful hail that I hiked in. It was actually kind of cool.

Here are the boys I met from tech when I was up on the mountain.
O ya, I'm a badass.
Not a great pic, but it was so beautiful there. In fact, I stopped right there and cooked eggs for lunch. And may I say dehydrated eggs have a bum rap, they were delicious.
And lastly, here's a totally different hike. It's my sister, Kate, and Annie hiking up to the Cascades.
I LOVE HEROES!

I love tents. One time I set one up in the backyard and slept in it for a few days. I'd also run out there and get in it during rain storms.

We are totally addicted to Heroes! I cannot wait till next season!! We camp a lot and have camped in the Mt Rogers area-although w/a pack of small kiddies along for the ride, campsite with bathrooms nearby is necessary, but we love it! We actually bought a camper a year and a half ago and I am constantly pestering my husband to let us use the tent "just this trip"-he thinks I'm nutso! Although, camper=good times when humongously pregnant

You pics are beautiful, Loren. But I must go on record and say am I the only one who thinks you are nuts for hiking by yourself (I understand the hiking and nature part) but by yourself in the wilderness with lions and tigers and bears and freaks and nutsos!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the same thing as Debbie, I must admit-always use the buddy system!! seriously, there are weirdos out there and SAFETY FIRST!!! (this happens to you when you become a mom, just fyi-lectures on safety just start pouring out...)

It was great to meet you last night (I'm the English one!) at Barnes & Noble in Richmond. Thanks a milion for sharing your wares with us! Hope you make it back soon.
Ditto on the hiking alone. I can see why you like it, but I hope you take a cell phone or GPS at least!

Me too. And I love camping. And I love the mountains. And I'm stuck up here in Northern Virginia with people tearing apart my bathroom, and tomorrow I have to go to work.

It's always something.

It's called hiking, not walking silly and I can tell you right now we would have to go uphill

Loren, it was great meeting you Tuesday night at our knitting group. I hope you'll come again sometime.

In the meantime, I am mui impressed with your big camping/hiking trip. Not much of a hiker/camper myself. Be safe out there in the rough! :-)

Hi Loren, I found you via Mary's Virgin Wool...she told me about you hiking the Mtn by yourself, Hubby and I hiked to the shadow of it on Monday (21st)...is that the day you were there? Did I pass you...did you see the pitiful hiker who scraped up her legs?
We'll have to hook up sometime, I live in Salem!
